BestPropFirms.com is an independent review site that scores and ranks proprietary trading firms for retail traders. Founded in 2023 by Justin Grossbard and Noam Korbl, the site tracks 39 prop firms and publishes 41 scored reviews. Every review examines a firm’s offer against a consistent set of seven categories, from challenge terms and payout conditions to trading platforms and support. No firm can pay to alter its score, its ranking, or its placement on the site. All content is free to read, and the rankings are designed to help traders compare firms on the details that matter most.
Each firm record carries a last-verified date, and every fact we publish is drawn from the firm’s own terms and dashboard. When a firm stops operating or fundamentally changes its rules, we update or remove its record so the rankings stay current. That approach keeps the site useful for traders who need to make decisions based on reliable, up-to-date information.
Our Story
Background
And Mission
We built Best Prop Firms to give retail traders a straightforward way to compare proprietary trading firms. As the number of prop firms has grown, the choices have become harder to navigate. We focus on transparency and clear, actionable information so traders can see how firms differ on the details that affect their daily trading experience. Our scored reviews break down each firm’s evaluation phases, funding levels, payout structures, platform choices, market access and support quality, making side-by-side comparisons possible.
Our aim is to match traders with a firm and a challenge that fit their risk appetite and trading skills. We cover the rules that shape the evaluation journey, from profit targets and drawdown limits to the conditions for reaching a funded account and scaling up. Every scored review is built from the firm’s own published terms and presented without bias; you can explore all our reviews on the reviews page.
What We Cover
Our scored reviews examine the full lifecycle of trading with a prop firm. We document every evaluation phase, including profit targets, maximum drawdown rules and any additional restrictions, so traders know exactly what is required to qualify. We then detail what happens after a trader passes: profit splits, payout schedules and any withdrawal conditions, along with the range of account sizes and funding levels a firm offers.
We also look at the trading infrastructure each firm supports, from MetaTrader 5 and TradingView to proprietary platforms, and the breadth of markets available, such as forex, commodities, indices, stocks and crypto. Beyond the reviews, we publish a growing library of free written guides. Our 13 firm guides explain how different firms operate, our 11 education explainers cover key prop trading concepts, and our 4 regional guides help traders find firms that serve their part of the world. You can find these in our education section and guides section.
A table listing the main coverage areas in our reviews is shown below.
| Area | What the review documents |
|---|---|
| Challenges & evaluations | Evaluation phases, profit targets, drawdown limits and the extra trading rules attached to each challenge. |
| Profit splits & payouts | Profit-sharing models, payout frequency and the conditions attached to a withdrawal. |
| Funded trader programs | Available funding levels and account options, and the capital and requirements behind each. |
| Trading platforms | The platforms each firm supports, from MetaTrader 5 and TradingView integrations to custom software. |
| Market access | Asset coverage across forex, commodities, indices, stocks and crypto. |
| Support & community | Support channels and hours, plus the community resources a firm runs. |
How We Research Firms
We build comparison tables that allow traders to evaluate fees, profit splits, maximum funding and challenge requirements side by side. The raw data behind those tables comes directly from each firm’s own published terms and dashboard. Every fact is verified, and each firm record displays a last-verified date so readers can judge how fresh the information is. This systematic collection of data ensures that comparisons are based on official, current material rather than second-hand reports or marketing claims.
We keep the information current through routine checks. When a firm changes its rules or fee schedule, we update its record. If a firm fundamentally alters its conditions or ceases operations, we either revise the record to reflect the new reality or remove it from rankings altogether. This process prevents the site from carrying outdated or misleading entries, and it means the list of firms always represents active, clearly defined opportunities.
The research is also informed by hands-on experience. Members of the team take challenges and trade with funded accounts, logging the full journey from onboarding to scaling. That practical exposure feeds into how we assess difficulty, transparency and support quality. All of this flows into our scoring model, which weighs seven categories: challenges, spreads, markets, payouts, platforms, trust and support. Challenges and payouts carry the heaviest weight; support carries the least. The complete weighting framework is documented on the methodology page.
Guiding Principles
Everything we publish is built on a commitment to honest, accurate information. We do not hide drawbacks or gloss over shortcomings. Each review presents the pros and cons of a firm clearly, so traders can weigh what matters to them. That straightforwardness extends to our funding model: we disclose exactly how the site earns money, and we never let commercial relationships influence a score or ranking. Our content is designed to benefit traders of all skill levels. We explain rules and structures in plain language, avoiding industry jargon where possible, and our comparisons are built around the questions a trader actually asks when choosing a firm.
As the prop trading industry evolves, we adapt our analysis to stay relevant. We add new firms as they launch, track changes to trading rules, and highlight the unique features that differentiate one firm from another. This ongoing refinement is part of our commitment to innovation in analysis, ensuring that the information we provide keeps pace with an industry that rarely stands still.
Editorial Independence & How We Are Funded
Best Prop Firms is a free resource. We do not charge readers to access reviews, comparisons or guides. To sustain the work, we participate in affiliate programmes with some of the firms we review. When a trader uses one of our referral links, we may earn a small commission at no extra cost to the trader.
These commercial arrangements have no bearing on scoring or ranking. A firm cannot pay to improve its position, its score, or the way its evaluation is described. The reviews are written without input from the firms, and the ranking order reflects only the output of our scoring model, not any commercial consideration.
Transparency about this model is part of our broader commitment to independence. We label referral links clearly and explain how the site is funded, so readers can always see where potential conflicts might arise. Despite those relationships, the data, the verdict and the comparisons remain our own.

Frequently Asked Questions
Who is behind Best Prop Firms?
Our site was founded in 2023 by Justin Grossbard and Noam Korbl, who continue to run it. Justin Grossbard leads the research and methodology, and Noam Korbl manages operations. Financial Writer and Analyst Tegan Miller works on research for the site's content. Every article on the site carries a named author, and each named person has an author page on the site.
Can a prop firm pay to get a higher score or better placement?
No. Our scores and rankings are determined solely by the methodology we publish. Affiliate commissions from some firms have no influence on where a firm sits in the table. We do not accept payment to alter a score, improve a review, or move a firm up the rankings.
How current is the information in your reviews?
Every firm record carries a last-verified date, so you can see when we last checked the details. We source every fact from the firm’s own terms and dashboard, and we routinely monitor for changes. If a firm ceases operations or fundamentally changes its conditions, we update or remove its record so the rankings stay reliable.
Does it cost anything to use Best Prop Firms?
No. The entire site, including reviews, comparison tables and educational articles, is free to read. We receive affiliate commission from some firms when a trader uses our links, but that does not affect the price you pay and it never influences our editorial content.
