The 5%ers Review: Payout Proof and Real-Money Stress Test Results

The prop firm industry is notorious for flashy marketing and hidden “gotchas.” At Best Prop Firms, we don’t just read the FAQ pages, we put our own capital on the line. I’ve spent over 10 years in the online trading space, and for this review, I personally traded The 5%ers (The Fivers) to see if their execution lives up to the hype.

The 5%ers Prop Firm Review – Full Video Test

YouTube video
This video shows the results from my real account test of The 5%ers prop firm, covering live spreads, challenge rules, scaling milestones, and payout conditions traders need to understand before signing up.

Key Takeaways: The 5%ers at a Glance

  • Institutional-Grade Spreads: During live testing, majors like EUR/USD held at 0.0 pips, with a competitive $4 round-turn commission.
  • Industry-Leading Scaling: You can scale up to a $4 million balance with a 100% profit share and a potential $10,000 monthly salary.
  • Manual Rule Lag: Violations aren’t flagged automatically; manual checks can delay your Phase 2 transition by up to a week.

1. Challenge Overview: Bootcamp vs. High Stakes vs. Hypergrowth

The 5%ers offer three distinct evaluation models. Unlike firms that offer a one-size-fits-all approach, these cater to different risk appetites and capital requirements.

The Bootcamp (Low-Cost Entry)

The Bootcamp is a three-step evaluation designed for traders who want to prove themselves without a large upfront investment. You pay a small entry fee and only pay the “final” fee once you pass.

  • Profit Target: 6% per stage.
  • Max Loss: 5% (tightens to 4% once funded).
  • Leverage: 1:10.

High Stakes (The Professional Choice)

This is a two-step challenge designed for experienced traders seeking high leverage (1:100) and faster scaling.

  • Step 1 Target: 8%.
  • Step 2 Target: 5%.
  • Max Loss: 10% (with a 5% daily drawdown).

Hypergrowth (Instant Expansion)

A one-step evaluation with aggressive scaling. Each time you hit a 10% profit target, your account size doubles, all the way up to $4 million.

Expert Verdict: At the 1:40 mark in my video, I show a profitable trade that was disqualified because it occurred during a news release. The issue wasn’t the rule itself, but the fact that it took the firm nearly a week to notify me. This “manual lag” is the primary reason I scored their dashboard a 7/10.

News trading rules can be manually enforced at The 5ers, this screenshot is an example of my experience with lags in rules being enforced during the evaluation stage

2. The Spread Test: Zero Pips and News Volatility

We scored The 5%ers 8/10 for pricing. In the world of prop firm payout proof, your edge is often eaten by slippage. Here is what our data showed:

  • Commission: $4 per round turn (cheaper than the industry average of $7).
  • Live Spreads: On the first chart in the video, you can see USD/JPY holding steady at 0.0 pips.
  • The News Stress Test: During a US unemployment claims release, I monitored the blowout. While other firms see spreads widen by 4 + pips, The 5%ers only pushed out to 1 pip. This stability is a massive green flag for intraday scalpers.

Screenshot of spreads during high impact news, being an announcement of USA unemployment claims. The 5%ers spreads stay relatively tight, widening from 0 to 1 pip, while other prop firms widened by as much as 4 pips.

3. The Scaling Plan: How to Earn a $10,000 Salary

The 5%ers have arguably the best scaling plan of any best prop firm 2026 candidate. They don’t just increase your balance; they change your career trajectory.

Milestone Benefit
Hitting 10% Profit Account balance doubles (Hypergrowth) or moves to next tier.
$350,000 Funding You start receiving a $4,000 fixed monthly salary.
$500,000 Funding Your monthly salary increases to $10,000.
Top Tier Reach a $4M account with a 100% profit share.

This “salary” component is a rare perk that provides a safety net most prop traders never get to experience.

4. Trading Rules and “The Gotchas”

While The 5%ers are highly rated, they have specific rules that can trip up the unwary:

  • Stop-Loss Requirement (Bootcamp): Every position must have a stop loss, and you cannot risk more than 2% of your balance per trade. Five violations, and you’re out.
  • News Trading: While allowed, “bracket strategies” (placing pending orders on both sides of a news release) are prohibited.
  • Inactivity: Accounts inactive for more than 30 days are automatically closed.

5. Dashboard and Platforms: MT5 vs. MatchTrader

The 5%ers support MetaTrader 5 and MatchTrader.

  • For US Traders: Note that US-based clients typically must use MatchTrader due to current MetaQuotes restrictions.
  • The Lag Issue: During my test, the P&L on the dashboard didn’t update in real-time. I often saw the dashboard showing a profit when my MT5 terminal showed I was in a drawdown.
  • Expert Tip: Always rely on your trading terminal (MT5) for your “source of truth.” Do not trust the web dashboard for real-time equity management.

6. Payout Proof: How Reliable are the Withdrawals?

The 5%ers score an 8/10 for payments.

  • Minimum Payout: $150.
  • Frequency: Every two weeks.
  • Methods: Crypto, bank transfers, and various online payment providers.
  • Trust: They have a 4.9/5 on TrustPilot, which is exceptionally high. Unlike retail brokers, they use commercial liquidity providers, which generally results in smoother fills and less “stop-hunting.”

Final Verdict: 78/100

The 5%ers are a “trader’s prop firm.” They aren’t the flashiest, and their manual backend processes can be slow, but their trading conditions are elite. If you value tight spreads and a clear path to scaling over a fancy dashboard, they are a top-tier choice for 2026.

FAQs

Does The 5%ers allow EAs?

Yes, automated trading and EAs are allowed on all account types, provided they are not used for arbitrage or “high-frequency” botting that exploits the demo environment.

Can I trade news?

Yes, news trading is permitted, but be careful with the “Bracket” rule. You cannot have buy-stops and sell-stops active simultaneously during high-impact events.

How does the $4M scaling work?

On the Hypergrowth and Bootcamp plans, every time you hit a 5-10% profit target (depending on the stage), the firm doubles your capital. Once you hit the $2.5M mark, your profit share moves to 100%.
